ministero dell'economia e delle finanze WORKSHOP MEF-OCSE PER IL RILANCIO DELL'ECONOMIA DELL'AQUILA DOPO IL TERREMOTO / MEF-OECD WORKSHOP AIMED AT KICK-STARTING THE ECONOMY OF L'AQUILA AFTER THE EARTHQUAKE

Si terrà a Roma, domani 3 luglio, la giornata di lavoro organizzata dall'Ocse in collaborazione con il Ministero dell'Economia e Finanze per discutere delle opportunità di sviluppo per rilanciare l'economia dell'Aquila dopo il terremoto del 6 aprile 2009.

Saranno presenti il Presidente del Consiglio, Silvio Berlusconi, e il Sottosegretario alla Presidenza, Dott. Gianni Letta.

I lavori, che si terranno presso il Mef, inizieranno alle ore 10 con l'intervento del Ministro dell'Economia e Finanze, Giulio Tremonti.

Parteciperanno al workshop esponenti del mondo accademico, imprenditoriale, esperti dell'Ocse e rappresentanti del Governo locale che si confronteranno sui temi di discussione, focalizzati su tre priorità:

a) Valorizzazione del ruolo dell'Università dell'Aquila

b) Opportunità per rilanciare l'attrattiva della città

c) Coinvolgimento del Governo nazionale, locale, della società civile e del mondo imprenditoriale per il nuovo sviluppo della Regione

I giornalisti potranno seguire l'apertura dei lavori (dalle ore 10 alle 11) e gli interventi conclusivi (dalle ore 16,30 alle 18) del Ministro Tremonti, del Responsabile dello Sviluppo Territoriale Ocse, Dr. Mario Pezzini, del Sindaco dell'Aquila, Massimo Cialente, del Presidente della Provincia, Stefania Pezzopane, e della Regione Abruzzo, Giovanni Chiodi.

A workshop co-organised by the Ministry for the Economy and Finance and the OECD to discuss ways and means to kick-start the economy of L'Aquila after the earthquake of last April 6, 2009, will be held in Rome tomorrow, July 3.

The workshop will be attended by Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and Undersecretary of the Council of Ministers Gianni Letta.

Held at MEF, starting 10 AM, the workshop will open with an address by the Economy and Finance Minister Giulio Tremonti.

The workshop will be attended by representatives from the academic and entrepreneurial worlds, OECD experts and local government representatives who will discuss the topics at hand, which will focus on three priorities:

a) strengthening the role played by the University of L'Aquila

b) developing opportunities aimed at boosting the city's attractiveness

c) seeking the involvement of the central and local governments, civil society and the business community with a view to stimulating a fresh growth for the region as a whole.

Journalists may follow the opening session (from 10 to 11 AM) as well as the closing addresses (from 4:30 PM to 6 PM) by Minister Tremonti; by the Head of Territorial Development at OECD, Mario Pezzini; by the Mayor of L'Aquila, Massimo Cialente; by the Chairman of the Provincial Council, Stefania Pezzopane; and by the Chairman of the Abruzzo Regional Council, Giovanni Chiodi.
