Minister Tremonti did not in any way address Mr Di Pietro in a derogatory manner. And I am in a position to personally confirm this having spent the entire morning with the minister. The only time he spoke while he was at the "transatlantico" was during Mr Di Pietro's address. The minister was conversing with MP Napoli, with whom he was talking about the Financial Act, namely the issue concerning the stability pact involving the city administrations. At exactly that moment, the minister used the term "mad" referring it, in general terms, to anyone who intended to reopen the debate on the Financial Act with a view to revising the stability pact. As they were talking, a journalist of an important national daily approached and, in overhearing the term, asked for a clarification, which was provided by both minister Tremonti and successively by Mr Napoli. Thus, no remark whatsoever had been made with regard to Mr Di Pietro.
