Rome, February 11th 2021 – The Minister of Economy and Finance, Roberto Gualtieri, sent to the Vice President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis, and to the Commissioner for Economy, Paolo Gentiloni, a letter on January 21 explaining the decision to propose to the Italian Parliament a Report in accordance with Article 6 comma 2 a) of Law n. 243/2012 requesting authorization to deviate from its DBP deficit target for 2021 to finance additional measures needed to support the sectors worst hit by the second wave of Coronavirus COVID-19.
On February 11, the Vice-President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis and the Commissioner for Economy, Paolo Gentiloni, replied to the letter sent to Brussels by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Roberto Gualtieri.
