The Financial Stability Committee met today at the Ministry for the Economy and Finance. The meeting, chaired by the minister for the economy and finance Mario Monti, was attended by the vice minister for the economy and finance Vittorio Grilli; the governor of the Bank of Italy Ignazio Visco; the chairman of Consob Giuseppe Vegas; and the chairman of Isvap Giancarlo Giannini.
Examining the recent developments of the national and international financial markets, with a special focus on the performance of Italian government bonds, the Committee pointed out the positive trends underway. The Committee agreed it would continue monitoring financial stability risks factors with regard to the markets and to intermediaries.
