In April 2012, the state sector borrowing requirement recorded on a provisional basis amounted to around 2.3 billion euros, which, on a like for like basis, is lower than the figure for April 2011 amounting to 8.8 billion.
In the first four months of 2012, the overall borrowing requirement amounted to 30.5 billion, the like-for-like figure of 2011 amounted to 39.8 billion.
