- COLLOCAMENTO DEL NUOVO BTP A 15 ANNI / NEW 15-YEAR BTP PLACEMENT RESULT

Il Ministero dell'Economia e delle Finanze comunica i risultati dell'emissione della prima tranche del nuovo BTP a 15 anni 1º marzo 2009 - 1º marzo 2025, cedola annua del 5,00%, pagata in due rate semestrali. Il regolamento dell'operazione è fissato per il 15 luglio p.v.

L'importo emesso è stato pari 5,5 miliardi di euro. Il titolo è stato collocato al prezzo di 99,014, corrispondente ad un rendimento annuo lordo all'emissione del 5,155%.

Il collocamento è stato effettuato mediante sindacato, costituito da cinque Lead Manager: Citigroup Global Markets Ltd., HSBC France, Morgan Stanley & Co. Int. PLC, Monte dei Paschi di Siena Capital Services Banca per le Imprese S.p.A., Société Générale Inv. Banking. I restanti Specialisti in titoli di Stato sono stati invitati in qualità di Co-Lead Manager.

Hanno partecipato all'operazione quasi 150 investitori per una domanda complessiva pari a circa 8 miliardi di euro. Le banche si sono aggiudicate circa il 40% dell'emissione complessiva, le assicurazioni e i fondi pensione ne hanno sottoscritto circa il 23%. I fondi d'investimento hanno sottoscritto circa il 20%, mentre le banche centrali si sono aggiudicate oltre il 6%. La quota allocata agli hedge funds è stata di poco superiore al 9%.

Oltre alla partecipazione degli investitori italiani, pari a circa al 26%, il collocamento del titolo ha visto una larga adesione di investitori non residenti, sia europei che extraeuropei, con una distribuzione geografica molto diversificata. Degne di nota sono state le quote sottoscritte da investitori residenti in Francia (oltre il 25%) e Gran Bretagna e Irlanda (23%), mentre anche da altri paesi europei si è registrata una buona partecipazione, con il 9,5% di Germania e Austria, il 6,5% della Scandinavia e oltre il 4% del Benelux. Non è mancata anche la presenza di investitori residenti in Asia e negli USA.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance announces the placement result of the first tranche of the new 15-year BTP. The bond, maturing on the 1st March 2025, with accrual date 1st March 2009, has 5.00% annual coupon, paid on a semi-annual basis. The settlement date of the transaction is set on July 15th.

The amount of 5.5 billion euros has been issued at a re-offer price of 99.014, equivalent to a 5.155% gross annual yield.

The bond has been placed through a syndicate structured with five lead managers, Citigroup Global Markets Ltd., HSBC France, Morgan Stanley & Co. Int. PLC, Monte dei Paschi di Siena Capital Services Banca per le Imprese S.p.A., Société Générale Inv. Banking. All the other Specialists in Italian Government bonds have been invited to participate as Co-Lead Managers.

Almost 150 investors took part to the transaction with a total amount of orders of around 8 billion Euros. Banks have accounted for the 40% of the issuance while insurance companies and pension funds were allotted 23% of the transaction. Fund Managers have received 20% of the issued amount, while central banks got more than 6%. Hedge funds have been allotted slightly more than 9%.

The geographical distribution has been well diversified: besides the participation of Italian investors, about 26%, it is worth noting the presence of investors resident in France (25%) and in the UK and Ireland (23%). Significant interest has been also shown by the other European countries: Germany and Austria (9.5%), Scandinavia (6.5%) and Benelux (4%). Asian and US investors took also part to the transaction.
