The Treasury Department of the Ministry for the Economy and Finance and the Agricultural Fund Agency (AGEA) signed an agreement as part of the initiative aimed at identifying, evaluating and turning to better account the property of public administrations.
The agreement between the two public institutions, coming in the wake of the accord signed by the Treasury Department and the Land Registry last July, consolidates the cooperation now in place aimed at maximising the synergies arising from the sharing of public administration IT systems. The latest accord targets a more precise knowledge of a specific segment of public property, the lands segment.
AGEA is to provide high-resolution aerial shots of the entire national territory as well as geo-referencing software for the identification of all lands. This will allow a better understanding on how these lands are being used and, consequently, lead to a more adequate assessment of their actual value. Thanks to this latest initiative, a series of further additional services will now be available to those public administrations that take part in the Public Administration Property at Market Prices Project (https://portaletesoro.mef.gov.it -Collegamento a sito esterno).
The agreement is a significant contribution to the project whose aim is to offer public administration departments with a tool they can rely on to identify and assess their real estate as they target improved management and the value accretion of public property.
