The state sector showed a temporary requirement for the month of September 2010 of approximately 12,700 million euros, which is around 1,100 million higher than the figure for September 2009, of 11,600 million euros. This difference is mainly due to the disbursement of the second tranche of the loan to Greece.
Over the first nine months of 2010, the requirement totalled around 64,500 million euros - an improvement by approximately 7,900 million over the figure recorded for the same period of 2009, which amounted to 72,398 million euros.
COMMENT
In terms of revenue, compared to the same period of 2009, the state sector requirement for the month of September 2010, has improved on account of the overall positive tax revenue trend; conversely - in terms of spending - the balance has been burdened by the payment of the second tranche of the 982 million euro loan to Greece, pursuant to Decree Law 67/2010 for the safeguarding of financial stability in the Euro zone.
