Rome, December 7, 2016 – Today’s Senate vote (166 in favour, 70 against, and one abstention) sanctioned the approval of the budget law for 2017 (“State budget for the 2017 fiscal year and multi-year budget for 2017-2019"), to which a special section is dedicated.
The President of the Republic received the Prime Minister in the Quirinal Palace, and the President of the Council handed in his resignation as head of government.
The President of the Republic reserved the right to decide and invited the Government to stay in office to continue taking care of its day-to-day work.
