Agenzia delle Entrate - Italian Revenue Agency
The Italian Revenue Agency, operating since 1 January 2001, is one of the four fiscal agencies emerging from the Revenue Authorities’ reorganization which was carried out pursuant to Legislative Decree no. 300 of 1999. The revenue-related functions assigned to this agency include the following main activities:
- giving information and assistance to taxpayers, including via electronic means and services to facilitate typical activities undertaken when making tax payments;
- tax assessments, checking for errors and tax evasion to fight tax avoidance and evasion (the Agency’s core business), including with the help of the Italian Finance Police;
- managing tax disputes before Tax Commissions.
